Service Description
This class will introduce students to the use of mantra and chanting as a meditation practice in order to alter patterns of the mind on a physical and energetic level. The science of mantra is based on the knowledge that sound is a form of energy that has a predictable effect on the chakras and the human psyche. By using sound vibrations and channeling the meaning of the mantra, participants have the ability to elevate their consciousness through rhythmic repetition. Kundalini yoga mantras are typically in Gurmukhi, a sacred Indian language. Students will be guided through the meaning of the mantra along with proper enunciation. The class will include light physical movement, chanting the mantra together as a group and savasana to allow for integrating the changes invoked through the meditation. This is a beginner-level class and participants should be prepared to remain in a seated position for up to 15 minutes.
